Following are the details of the boards, councils, committees and other bodies constituted by RINL, VSP.

Board of Directors of RINL

Board of RINL comprises of Five functional Directors and two Government Directors from the Ministry of Steel. Overall policy matters of the company and procurement of items and engaging of services beyond certain financial values and time periods are under the preview of the Board.   Powers of the Board of Directors, as per the Articles of Association have been given under Article II of the Manual

Committee of Management

This is a subcommittee of the Board comprising of CMD and other Functional Directors for procurement of items and engaging the services beyond the powers delegated to the CMD and upto certain financial and period limits.

 

SHOP-FLOOR CO-OPERATION COMMITTEES:

Shop-floor co-operation committees have been constituted  with representatives of Management and Workmen in order to  foster a climate of participation and cooperation in the shop-floor and to develop among workers and shop-floor managers a spirit of collaboration and mutual appreciation of problems for promoting better understanding and harmonious industrial relations. The production plan, production performance, techno-economics, house keeping, absenteeism, cost reduction, waste elimination and other work related issues relating to the shop are discussed in the committee.

TRAINING ADVISORY COMMITTEES:

Training Advisory Committees are constituted and are functioning with the purpose of  reviewing  the fulfillment of Training Plans and effectiveness of training and for suggesting improvements in Training functions.  They also suggest new training programmes to be taken up as per organizational needs.

TOWN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE:

 

Town Development Committee  comprising of representatives from Management and workmen  has been constituted for deliberating on various issues relating to development on various infrastructural facilities and civic amenities in township and submitting recommendations for consideration of the Management.

 

CENTRAL SAFETY COMMITTEE:

 

Central Safety Committee consisting of representatives of the Management and the workmen and headed by the Head of Works Division deals with all matters concerning health, safety and environment in the Plant premises for finding out practicable solutions to the problems encountered for ensuring safe working environment.

 

DEPARTMENTAL SAFETY COMMITTEES:

 

Departmental Safety Committees are constituted in various operation, maintenance and service departments and meet regularly to address issues relating to safety, occupational health and environment, including identifying potential hazards for taking suitable corrective actions and ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices.

 

SAFETY APPLIANCES COMMITTEE:

 

Safety Appliances Committee meets regularly to discuss and finalise issues pertaining to provision of safety appliances and submit its recommendations to Management for implementation.

 

SPORTS COUNCIL

VSP Sports Council comprising of representatives of Management and Workmen has been constituted with the following objectives:

  1.  To promote sports and games in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

  2.  To spot the sports talent from among the   employees and VSP school children.

  3. To encourage the sports talent by conducting periodical tournaments and providing facilities and opportunities.

  4. To coordinate with Steel Plants Sports Board and participate in the tournaments conducted by SPSB and others and also to conduct tournaments under the auspices of SPSB.

CANTEEN MANAGING COMMITTEE

In pursuance of the provisions of the Factories Act 1948 and rules under AP Factories Rules 1950, Canteen Managing Committee consisting of representatives of Management and workmen has been constituted.  The CMC meets periodically to devise suitable systems to ensure supply of food stuff as per the prescribed standards of quantity and quality.  The Committee also takes suitable measures to ensure efficient functioning of canteens in all respects to provide best possible service to the employees during the prescribed hours of working.
