The Steel Melt Shop-1 of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has achieved yet another milestone in performance today by successfully revamped its Convertor-3 ahead of 10 days of schedule. This is as part of the modernisation of the existing units to take the overall capacity to 7.3 mtpa. Sri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant while inaugurating the first heat from the revamped Convertor-3, congratulated the RINL collective and particularly the Modernization and Capital Repairs group for their notable performance and adherence to safety standards. He appreciated the efforts of one and all during his visit to the Convertor-3 on october 27th,2016. The prestigious project of revamping of Converter-3 was executed by SMS Consortium (SMS Seimag, SMS India & Bridge & Roof). The modernisation of Convertor-3 in SMS-1 will further reduces pollution and will also help in achieving greater productivity.. Sri PC Mohapatr, Director (Projects), Dr GBS Prasad, Director (personnel), Sri P Raychaudhury, Director (Commercial) were present on the occasion. Sri NK Nayak, GM(Projects)/M&CR, N.Gangadhar, DGM (Electrical)/M&CR, TVV Satyanarayana, DGM(M&CR), G.Raghavendra Rao, DGM(SMS-1) I/c,  K Srinivas, DGM(O)-SMS-1,  and several senior officials of VSP, SMS Consortium, Bridge & Roof and MN Dastur were also attended.
