RINL observed National Energy Conservation Day today at a program organized at Dr. Tenneti Viswanatham auditorium of learning and development center of Visakhapatnam steel plant.The programe was inaugurated by Sri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations), RINL alongwith Sri NV Swamy, CGM(Works)-Incharge and other senior officials of RINL. A traditional welcome dance by the budding children and a skit by 2 young children highlighting the importance of energy conservation enthralled the audience. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Sri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations), RINL advised employees to optimize operations and operate all facilities at rated capacity to reduce energy consumption and cost. It was a historic moment in the annals of RINL with Blast Furnace -2 (KRISHNA) crossing the Glorious Milestone of 50 Million tons of Hot Metal production, since inception.The Blast Furnace -2 (BF-2) which was commissioned on 21.03.1992 achieved this significant milestone on 25th October, 2023 night. Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL , Chief Mentor (Kalpataru) and Sri Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI (Software Technology Park of India) and Chairman STPINEXT have done the honor of soft launching of the prestigious Centre of Entrepreneurship (CoE) on Industry 4.0 (Kalpataru) and OCP-1 (Open Challenge program-1) virtually, today.In the first phase of this activity, RINL shared few problem statements (challenges pertaining to RINL’s production area) which are available in the website (https:\\Kalpataru.stpi.in) and through this OCP program the start-ups will be selected to work in Kalpataru Project. In his key note address, Sri Arvind Kumar expressed that in this CoE all the domains of Engineering with the knowledge of Artificial Intelligence are required as against the common notion of only Computer Science and related graduates to work on Industry 4.0. Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Visakhapatnam Steel Plant conducted a Plant Level Mock Drill today on 23.06.2022 to test the On-Site Emergency Preparedness at an imaginary fire at Final Gas Cooler - 3 area of Coke oven and Coal Chemical Plant Dept , in which the emergency services like CISF Fire wing, Medical services, Gas Safety, Maintenance, safety department, Environment Management Dept, CISF (Security), HR dept etc have participated. During the Mock Drill, the fixed and mobile fire fighting installations such as High range fire monitor systems, Foam Flooding systems, Fire Tenders etc were put in operation and other communication facilities like Emergency Manual Call Point and siren system were used.
