The Government of Andhra Pradesh assured that it will extend all possible help to RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to tide over the present water crisis.
This assurance was given to Shri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL, who called on the Chief Secretary to GoAP, Shri SathyaPrakash Tucker, IAS, in Hyderabad. Shri Madhusudan briefed the Chief Secretary on the present status of operation of the plant and critical issues related to water.
The Chief Secretary indicated that necessary instructions have been given to the concerned authorities and the water requirement of RINL would be met comprehensively. Incidentally, RINL is amongst the lowest water consuming steel plants in the country, and Chief Secretary was informed by the Chairman that all possible measures to reduce consumption of water, both at plant and township have been taken.
