Sri P. Madhusudan, RINL CMD inaugurated the Swachh Bharat Pakhwada, a fornight long Swachh Bharat Drive by garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at MG park, Ukkunagaram today.
The cleanliness fornight was formally initiated by flagging off a “Swachhta Walkathon” from the Gandhi Park Ukkunagaram. Directors, senior management, HODs, employees and residents of Ukkunagaram participated in the Walkathon. RINL-Vizag Steel is observing Swachh Bharat Pakhwada from the 1st May to 15th May 2016 to renew focus and thrust on Swachh Bharat mission in the plant and surrounding villages. Later, everyone participated in the cleanliness drive organized at Indira Gandhi park.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri P Madhusudan, CMD urged the employees to participate in Swachh Bharat Drive and asked them to take up cleanliness drives not only in their workplaces but also at their residential and community areas too.
Various activities have been planned throughout the fortnight. Cleanliness drives in various department of the plant, poster and slogan competition, Adarsh Swachh Vigbagh competitions etc. will be organized during the period.
For propagating good hygiene practices and importance of sanitation in the surrounding villages Swachhta Jagruti Drives through “Swachhta Rath” are planned. RINL has been fervently committed towards the Swachh Bharat Mission and celebrating Pakhwada will take it a step further towards the letter and spirit of a Swachh Bharat.
