A livelihood is a boon for an individual not only in terms of the financial wealth it can generate but also in terms of elevating the Self esteem of an individual too. Continuing its endeavors of sustainable CSR initiatives in the surrounding villages as well as its mines areas. RINL has been in the forefront in terms of undertaking several Skill Development programmes, especially  the project “Kaushal”, a most successful Skill development Programme implemented by RINL.

The Project  caters to the members of the SC community providing them with a stipend amount of Rs.1500 during the training. It also has an important linkage to placement after successful training.

With the active support of top management especially the keen interest shown by Sri P Madhusudan, CMD,RINL, the project is creating  a livelihood for the people of SC community and is bringing them into the mainstream of the society.

Under the Corporate Social Responsibility of RINL training is imparted in Garment Construction Technique (GCT) for 4 months and Industrial Sewing Machine Operation (Basic& Advanced) for  3 months to 200 SC youth. The training is provided by Apparel Training and Design Centre, a professional body under the Ministry of Textiles.

 

Kaushal aims to address the skill deficit with a focus on an Eco-system approach. The approach addresses the skill shortage faced by industry and meets it with the unemployed youth in the community. This leads to creating a demand driven skill development programme which has  great placement potential. 

The training classes are conducted right in the midst of the Rehabilitation colonies at two locations namely Vadlapudi and Gajuwaka facilitating access to the beneficiaries. Two batches trained at Gajuwaka from Nov. 15 to March 16 and three batches at Vadlapudi from Jan.16 to May 16.

13 beneficiaries were provided with job offers from Volta Fashions after the completion of the course. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to VSP management as well as satisfaction in terms of learning the skill at a professional level and for being provided with the chance for employment.

Further, RINL also imparts skills in various trades like tailoring, Fabric painting, LMV driving, beauty therapy etc. to unemployed youth of the Rehabilitation colonies.320 beneficiaries were imparted training during 2015-16 in  the above mentioned trades.
