The Formation Day celebrations of RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant started with the lighting of lamp at the sprawling Trishna grounds in the township. Sri P Madhusudan, CMD was the chief guest.  Addressing the large number of employees and their family members, Sri Madhusudan asked employees to rededicate, to work together with utmost discipline and devotion to take the company to greater heights of growth and prosperity. He observed that though the journey has been extremely turbulent and said that RINL fraternity could overcome all the odds, through  resilience and determination of employees and swung back to continue the growth momentum. He complimented employees and their family members for the cooperation extended during this transition. Directors, Union leaders, representatives of Steel Executive Association, SC & ST association, WIPS and VMS members, large number of employees and their family members participated in the celebrations. CMD presents Jawaharlal Nehru Awards:  Sri Madhusudan distributed Jawaharlal Nehru awards to 82 employees both executives (41) and non-executives (41) together for their outstanding performance in their work areas. The ECO awards were also presented to the departments who shown environment and energy friendly initiatives to mark the occasion. Cultural Programme: Notable event during celebrations is the Cultural Programme performed by Ukkunagaram School children (in-house) during the evening programme. The in-house colourful cultural programme was organized by Corporate Communications Department. Noted Cine play back singer and Indian Idol Mr Revanth performed in the musical night at Thrishna Grounds, Ukkunagaram. Skits, Drama, Dances by School Children and musical show by Mr Revanth enthralled the audience. Inauguration of Auditorium : Sri P Madhusudan inaugurated the renovated auditorium at Technical Training Institute in the morning in the presence of company Directors, Union leaders and Steel Executive Association representatives.
