The International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC-2020), organized by the “Bangladesh Society for Total Quality Management (BSTQM)” was held at Dhaka, Bangladesh from 1st – 3rd Dec, 2020. More than 250 teams from various countries including China, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Bangladesh, and Srilanka etc. participated in the competition.  Three LQC teams from Vizag Steel i.e. “AMPS” from Blast Furnace , “Yantrik” from CO&CCP and “New Wings” from LMMM presented their case studies in virtual mode in the competition conducted during the convention. While, all the teams bagged “PLATINUM”, the top most award at the Convention, the 1st prize in the stream was bagged by the team “AMPS” from Blast Furnace among all ‘PLATINUM’ awardees internationally.  QC team “AMPS” of Blast Furnace consisting of Shri K Chandrasekhar, MV Ramana Murty, Ahammad Valli, PM Satyanarayana and M Appala Raju presented their case study on “Replacement of encoder with striker cam switch in Mudgun Slew Mechanism”.   QC team “Yantrik” of CO&CCP consisting of Shri W Murali Krishna Rao, V Ghanshyam Prasad, G Padma Kumar, D Rama Rao and B Bhaskara Rao presented their case study on “Modification of Window Lifting Mechanism in Pusher car-1”.     QC team “New Wings” of LMMM consisting of Shri P Venkanna Rao, D Rama Krishna, B Kushal Krishna, T Govinda Rao  and K Satyanarayana presented their case study on “Optimization and constancy of bundle weight for reducing production delays and Rake retention time”.     Shri PK Rath, CMD, RINL Congratulated the winners for their innovative approach at workplace and for bringing the laurels to the organization.  Shri AK Saxena , Director (Operations) , RINL  congratulated the winners and exhorted them to strive with same approach  to debottleneck the issues at shop floor.
