The employees of RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant observed the 50th National Safety Day. To mark the occasion, a function was organized at Training Center auditorium of VSP today. The theme of 50th National Safety Day is, Learn from Disaster and Prepare for a Safer Future.Guest of Honour, Sri DCS Varma, Director of Factories, Govt of Andhra Pradesh appreciated RINL for its efforts in increasing the safety norms and statistics for securing a better future.  He said that we should learn from the disasters and urged to not to take it granted even the smallest changes and always prepare for the worst as a precautionary measure towards safety. For a safer future safety should become a value of the organization. Sri PK Rath, CMD, RINL, Chief Guest, emphasised that safety should be taken care by one and all and asked to focus on the right human behavioral aspect towards safety. He congratulated the prize winners of various competitions conducted on the occasion of 50th National Safety Day by Safety Engineering Department.Earlier in his welcome speech, Shri S Sanyal, GM (Safety) Ic  informed that at RINL-VSP, Accident Frequency Rate is reduced from 0.10 in 2019-20 to 0.08 in 2020-21. He also added that RINL-VSP is recommended for ISO 45001 certification and Fire safety audit compliance was also obtained. Later Prizes were given to the winners of various Safety competitions held in this connection. Sri KC Das, Director (Personnel), Sri VVV Gopala Rao, Director (Finance), Sri D K Mohanty, Director(Commercial),  Sri KK Ghosh, Director (Projects), Sri AK Saxena, Director (Operations),  Sri KV Vidya Sagar,  ED (Works), Union leaders, Steel Executive Association members, representatives from SC,ST Association, OBC association and WIPS  were also present.
