As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an Inter School Sports Quiz was organised today to celebrate National Sports Day which is the Birth Anniversary of India’s Hockey Legend, Major Dhyan Chand. The event was held in Multipurpose hall of Ukku Club, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.Sri G. Gandhi Chief general manager (HR-Corp. Services) inaugurated the event in the presence of Sri F. K. Lakra CGM (TA, Law & Contracts) Sri M. S. Kumar GM (Sports) Sri Y. Chandrasekhar GM & HOD (Town Admn) and Sri R. P. Sharma GM (CC) I/c.  The dignitaries offered floral tributes to the Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. Sri J. Rahul DGM (HRD) who was the Quiz Master, conducted the Sports quiz in an interesting manner comprising of both Text and Visual Rounds. Sri M. S. Kumar GM (Sports) welcomed the gathering.Speaking on the occasion, Sri G. Gandhi elaborated upon the importance of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the various activities being undertaken by RINL. He appreciated the efforts of Sports Department for conducting a number of sports competitions for all sections of society thus ensuring good physical fitness to all concerned. De Paul School represented by Master Ronnaq Siddiqui and Master Chaitanya Naresh emerged Winners of the Inter-School Sports Quiz. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Steel Plant represented by Master K. Deva and Ms. R. Afreen were Runner-Up while Delhi Public School represented by Master Soham Swarup Behara and Master Priyanshu Prateik Rout finished in 3rd Place. Ten schools participated in the competition, namely (1) VVV Ukkunagaram (2) VVV, BC Road (3) Srishti World School (4) De Paul School (5)DAVC  Public School (6) Aurobindo Ideal School (7) Delhi Public School (8) Kendriya Vidyalaya, Steel Plant (9) Siva Sivani Public School and (10) Little Angels School. Dr. K. H. Prakash CGM (Medical) was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function and distributed prizes to the Winners. Sports Dept. collective Sri Amiya Kumar Ghadai, Sri M. V. Murali Mohan, Sri R. Sridhar, Sri N. J. George. Sri K. Srinivasa Rao, Sri H. G. Ramaswamy, Sri K. Kasi Visweswara Rao, Sri D. L. N. Raju, Sri V. S. R. A. Gopalam and Sri B. Ch Rout participated.
