RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has taken up another unique CSR initiative of supplying Rs 2 crore worth steel free of cost to construct multi-storied hospital complex which consists of oncology block, surgery wards, department of Orthopedics, Anesthesia etc in KGH.
Sri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL handed over the Sale Order to Dr M Madhusudan Babu, Supdt, KGH for supply of Steel today in his office. This total steel worth Rs 2 crores presently being issued will be used in the foundation works of the multistoried complex being constructed at KGH.
Sri P Raychaudhury, Director (Commercial), senior officials of RINL were present on the occasion.
Sri Madhusudan Babu expressed his gratitude to RINL management for helping the KGH in developing the infrastructure of the oldest hospital in this region.
RINL has joined along with other PSU’s in the endeavor of construction of multistoried hospital complex at KGH premises at a cost of Rs. 80 Crs to strengthen the infrastructure facilities in KGH which was built during the British regime.
This initiative is in line with the several interventions in healthcare undertaken by RINL as a responsible corporate. RINL is also extending financial assistance to Dermatology Dept of KGH to procure medical equipments like NB-UVB chamber, Dermatoscope, Aiming light for CO2 Laser etc, at a cost of Rs 6 lakhs , to serve the poor and needy of north coastal districts of AP, Odisha and Chhattisgarh under its CSR initiative.
King George Hospital is one of the oldest and prestigious hospital catering to the needs of not only Visakhapatnam but also the surrounding districts. To meet the growing demand and to accommodate all the facilities and specialties under one roof, a mutli-storied hospital complex is the need of the hour. The site for the same has been obtained by the dismantling of the old ENT block. The District collector & Chairman of Hospital Development Committee has taken up the construction of the multistoried hospital complex with state of the art facilities funded by local PSUs and executed by Andhra Pradesh Medical Services Infrastructure Corporation (APMSIDC).
