RINL Visakhapatnam Steel Plant celebrated the 72nd Republic Day with patriotic fervor in Ukkunagaram today. Sri PK Rath, CMD, RINL unfurled the National Flag, took the salute and inspected the guard of honor accorded by the CISF Jawans, at the sprawling Trishna Grounds in the township. Addressing the employees and their family members, Sri Rath congratulated RINL collective who worked together to achieve record production at all major production units and for utilizing the opportunities of the buoyant market. The year 2020 has provided us many learning experiences and the company has benefitted enormously emerging stronger to face such challenges in future. We have to continuously look for opportunities in every process to cost savings he called for. When domestic demand subdued we stepped up exports by 141% to a level of Rs.3109 Crores during the year up to Dec’20. We crossed an export volume of 1 MT for the first time in the company informed Shri Rath. There is a lot of progress made in operationalizing the mines of OMDC, our subsidiary. BSLC another subsidiary also started earning profits for the first time. he added.Further Sri Rath shared that the Forged Wheel Plant at Raebareli is under advanced stage of completion and expected to be commissioned by Feb’21. He appreciated RINL collective for showing immense resilience in adversity and emerged victorious in the tough fight against Covid-19. In specific, the contribution and dedication of Covid warriors like Doctors, paramedical staff, Sanitation staff, volunteers and all those front line warriors is highly appreciable he complimented. Shri Rath distributed appreciation awards to the Covid warriors. Sri KC Das, Director (Personnel), Shri. V.V.Venu Gopal Rao, Director (Finance,) Shri KK Ghosh, Director (Projects), Shri DK Mohanty, Director (Commercial), Shri AK Saxena, Director (Operations), Sri KVN Reddy, CVO, Smt Sarada Rath, President of Visteel Mahila Samiti, Sri Neelesh Kumar,  Commandant, CISF, Executive Directors, CGMs, GMS, Senior Officers, representatives of SEA, Unions, SC&ST Association, Visteel Mahila Samiti, WIPS and employees participated in the celebrations. The main attraction of the event is the tableau on Covid awareness which is displayed in the parade made by Visakha Steel General Hospital in coordination with Town administration department. The CISF Fire wing special Commandos also exhibited their skills and demonstrated Tricolor water jets representing our National Flag
