RINL observed National Energy Conservation Day today at a program organized at Dr. Tenneti Viswanatham auditorium of learning and development center of Visakhapatnam steel plant.The programe was inaugurated by Sri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations), RINL alongwith Sri NV Swamy, CGM(Works)-Incharge and other senior officials of RINL. A traditional welcome dance by the budding children and a skit by 2 young children highlighting the importance of energy conservation enthralled the audience. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Sri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations), RINL advised employees to optimize operations and operate all facilities at rated capacity to reduce energy consumption and cost. Sri Baghchi lauded Energy Management department collective for conducting an extensive energy conservation awareness campaign amongst all departments and schools through various programs from 1st to 14th December, 2023.Earlier, Sri K. Sudhakar, GM (EMD)-Incharge highlighted various energy conservation measures being implemented at RINL. RINL is pioneer in adopting energy conservation technologies and it may please be noted that RINL has also won the prestigious National Energy Leader award for  5 times  and Excellent Energy Efficient Unit Award for seven times and it is rare achievement for any PSU and Integrated Steel Plant in India to  achieve this rare feat. As part of this celebration, RINL conducted various awareness programmers for school children"s and employees of VSP. About 3500 persons participated in various campaigns. Energy Awareness program conducted in various departments and 1500 employees participated, Energy Awareness program conducted schools children and 2000 children"s participated, In addition the above, Energy quiz competition was conducted for executives and non-executives and school children, a Special Lecture was conducted for VSGH(visakha steel general hospital)  employees and Painting competition, Essay competition and quiz competition for the school children. Sri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations) RINL, Sri NV Swamy, CGM (Works)-incharge, RINL and Chief general managers presented awards to various departments of Visakhapatnam steel plant for their innovative Energy conservation projects and overall energy performance. The dignitaries presented prizes to the departmental energy teams for their significant efforts towards energy conservation.The dignitaries presented prizes to a large number of school children and employees for winning in various competitions which were conducted as part of the Energy Conservation awareness fortnight conducted by Energy management department at RINL.
