Sri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL said that RINL is always positive and demonstrates support to the MSMEs in improving their business and exhorted them to utilize the opportunities being created by RINL expansion and modernization. He said that local MSMEs are playing a vital role in meeting the procurement requirements of RINL-VSP which has doubled the capacity to 7.3 mtpa. Sri Madhusudan made this observation in his opening remarks while chairing the meeting at  “21st Plant level Committee Meeting” organized by Vendor Development Cell (VDC) and Materials Management (MM) Department of RINL in Ukkunagaram today. Sri Madhusudan said that RINL has procured various types of items worth Rs 239 crores during 2015-16 and Rs 415 crores during 16-17 from the MSMEs, which shows an improvement of 29%. This reflects RINL concern for the  MSMEs and their business growth, he added. He mentioned that RINL is strictly adhering to the guidelines of GOI in public procurement policy related to MSMEs. Sri SV Giridhar Rao, Joint Director, Department of Industries & Commerce, Govt of AP observed that MSMEs are playing a major role in creating and providing employment and they are presently facing a lot of challenges in sustaining their business. He said that RINL is a very important partner for MSMEs and  he stressed the need to extend support to MSMEs in their journey towards success. He  advised RINL to impart training to the local vendors to develop the products required for VSP. He said that AP  Government is contemplating to set up MSME Parks in every district and called upon the MSMEs to utilize the opportunities created by AP Govt to further increase their business activities. Sri P Raychaudhury, Director (Commercial), RINL while summing up the proceedings, assured full support to local MSMEs and said that RINL will have a fresh look into the issues raised by them for their advantage.  He said that RINL is continuously interacting with the local MSMEs, District Industries Centre etc for the mutual benefit in improving their business. Sri KC Das, Director (Personnel), Sri PK Rath, Director (Operations), Executive Directors, GMs and senior functionaries from RINL participated. Sri Ramalingeswar Raju, GM, District Industries Centre, Visakhapatnam, Sri Uday Bhaskar, GM, DIC, Vijayanagaram, Sri Gopalakrishan, GM, DIC, Srikakulam, Sri Yetiraja Rao, Zonal Manager, APIIC and senior officers of AP Govt participated in the interactions. Earlier, Sri KV Ramana Rao, Executive Director (MM) RINL welcomed the participants. He said that around 1600 MSMEs including 200 from local MSMEs have been registered with RINL. Sri MVK Reddy, Deputy General Manager (MM-VDC) RINL compeered the programme. Sri AK Balaji, President of VAASIWA  highlighted the contribution of RINL in the development of this region particularly Visakhapatnam and commended the support of RINL to the local industries. A large number of representatives from local MSMEs, National Small Industries Corporate, APIIC, Industries welfare associations took part in the meeting and interacted with the top management of RINL.
