Message from Honourable Minister of P&NG and Steel -Say no to Single use Plastic    18-Sep-2019     View PDF

On India’s 73rd Independence day celebrated on 15th August 2019, our Prime Minister made an appeal to all citizens to do away with the use of single used plastic in the country and replace it by sustainable alternative options such as jute/ cloth bag/ Steel bottles etc. Our small steps in this direction can bring significant change in the health and environment of the country. To make India free of single use plastics, a massive public campaign has been launched by Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Ministry of Steel, engaging all stakeholders in the petroleum and steel sector for phasing out ‘Single Use Plastics’.  I request each one of you for leading this Jan Andolan in phasing out the single use plastics.  I appeal to all  citizens and the stakeholders of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Ministry of Steel, right from employees to vendors, suppliers, Retail Outlet dealers, LPG distributors, Steel manufacturers to ultimate consumers to join this campaign and spread the message of avoiding use of single use plastics and move over to more sustainable and environment friendly alternatives such as jute/textile bags, clay pots etc. Let us be the part of this Jan Andolan by taking our small steps which will make our country clean and green.
