RINL-VSP is demonstrating its supremacy in conservation of energy year after year and recognized as the best energy efficient steel plant in the country, observes Sri PK Rath, CMD, RINL at the valedictory function of Energy Conservation Fortnight celebrations held in connection with the National Energy Conservation Day in Ukkungaram today. Winning several National Awards is the testimony to our efforts, he said.Speaking on the occasion, Sri Rath said that RINL-VSP collective is giving importance to the conservation of energy right from the beginning and bringing laurels to the company by implementing various energy efficient methods. He called upon the VSP collective to further achieve the international benchmarks in conservation of energy to strengthen plant operations. He said that the plant has installed several waste heat recovery technologies in various facilities which accounts for 62% of total power generation capacity. Energy conservation is one of the key techno-economic parameters in the steel industry, which helps improving the bottom-line of the company significantly, he said. Sri VV Venugopal Rao, Director (Finance), Sri DK Mohanty, Director (Commercial), Sri KK Ghosh, Director (Projects), Sri AK Saxena, Director (Operations), Sri KV Vidya Sagar, Executive Director (Works) I/c, EDs, General Managers, HODs were present on the occasion. Sri Rath and other Directors of RINL gave away the prizes to the winners of various competitions organized for the employees and school children to mark the occasion. Earlier, V Ramanujam, ED (Energy & Utilities) in his welcome address highlighted the various initiatives undertaken for energy conservation in the plant.
