Smt YV Anuradha,  a retired IAS Officer called upon the womenfolk  to strive for bringing change in the society without fear  and instill confidence that they are  not only equal  but better than  men in many ways. She made this observation while speaking at the International Women’s Day in Ukkunagaram today.Addressing the women employees of RINL-VSP, Smt Anuradha  stressed upon education, empowerment, participation  of women lead to their growth and development in the society. She said that women should develop leadership qualities and attitudinal change in their mindset is very much required for women for achieving success. She mentioned that everyone is propagating gender equality concept which was surfaced in the 80s,  but no country so far achieved gender equality in the world so far. She said that women should break the barrier in their mind that men are superior to them. Smt Amita Panda, Mrs Universe (March 2019) was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion Smt Amita advocated that women should take risk in life, be ambitious in profession and balance the body and mind to achieve excellence in the male dominated society. Women are on the path of empowerment and called upon them to work with courage and commitment, she added. She also advised womenfolk to invest some time in their physical fitness Sri PK Rath, CMD,RINL said that women have more tolerance in the society and they are instrumental in bringing change and peace in the home and heart. Every heart and every home is incomplete with out women, he added. RINL is always in forefront in bringing empowerment and extending several facilities to its women employees. He commended that women employees are bringing name and fame to the organization in many areas and in fact they are willing to work in critical areas of work in the plant. Sri KC Das, Director (Personnel) recounted the achievements and sacrifices of women in the society. Sri VV Venugopal Rao, Director (Finance), Sri DK Mohanty, Director (Commercial), Sri KK Ghosh, Director (Projects), Sri AK Saxena, Director (Operations), Sri PJ Vijayakar, CVO, Smt Sarada Rath, President of  Visteel Mahila Samiti participated. Senior officers, representatives of SEA, Unions, SC&ST, OBS, WIPS and large number of women employees participated. Earlier, the dignitaries felicitated  Smt Sridevi and Dr Uma, General Managers of RINL as the women achievers. They also felicitated winners of Quality Circles competitions held at Singapore recently. A news letter brought out by WIPS was released by the dignitaries on the occasion. Sri Lalan Kumar, GM(Rajbhasha &Admn) & Honorary President of WIPS welcomed the gathering. Smt Sarala, Coordinator, WIPS  presented an overview of WIPS activities on the occasion. Smt G Veidehi, General Secretary, WIPS proposed vote of thanks. Smt Manisha Das, Member, WIPS compered the programme. Cultural programmes particularly Dimsha Dance by the employees of VSP attracted the audience.
