RINL-VSP’s CISF unit celebrated “Van-Mahotsav” as part of CISF Golden Jubilee celebrations on 7th July,2018 in a befitting manner.On this occasion the Chief Guest, Sri. Kishore Chandra Das, Director (Personnel), RINL unveiled the “Swarna Jayanti Udyan” at CISF new complex followed by planting of golden jubilee trees. Sri Das lauded the plantation drive undertaken by CISF, VSP unit on the occasion of the Van-Mahotsav at such a grand scale. He said that trees play a very important role in human life and we cannot survive without them. We need them for oxygen and good health.  They improve our environment and prevent floods and droughts.  He also requested the gathering to plant more trees in their nearby areas and conduct more such programmes in future as well. In the programme, 6000 saplings were planted by CISF unit VSP personnel/volunteers within half-an hour, from 1000 hrs to 1030 hrs.  Sri. Irfan Ahmad, Commandant, CISF, VSP unit welcomed the dignitaries and guests present on the occasion. In his address he highlighted the role of trees in sustenance of life on earth. He also added that trees are beautiful and useful gifts of nature. Trees are our great friends as they give us oxygen, absorb carbon dioxide from atmosphere, keep the temperature of earth in control and stabilize the soil. So it becomes our duty to reciprocate and support the trees by conservation and plantation, he said. Agro Forestry department of RINL-VSP provided saplings for the Van-Mahotsav programme.
